چکیده
Abstract Laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) provide the possibility to functionalize of various materials, which can be used control wettability metal surfaces or influence cell adhesion. LIPSS thus offer great potential for application on implant if their fabrication process is compatible with standard techniques. Here we demonstrate an easy-to-use two-step method stents different types LIPSS. The separation between stent structure and structuring allows implementation any finishing technique without affecting suggested may a step further in implementing laser machining-based functionalization commercial implants.

Laser-induced periodic annular surface structures on fused silica surface
We report on the formation of laser-induced periodic annular surface structures (LIPASS) on fused silica irradiated with multiple femtosecond laser pulses. This novel morphology emerges after the disappearance of the conventional laser induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS), under successive laser pulse irradiation. It is independent of the laser polarization and universally observed for d...
متن کاملTowards Friction Control using laser-induced periodic Surface Structures
This paper aims at contributing to the study of laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) and the description of their tribological properties in order to facilitate the knowledge for contact mechanical applications. To obtain laser parameters for LIPSS formation, we propose to execute two D2-Experiments. For the transfer of results from static experiments to areas of LIPSS we propose t...
متن کاملAssessment of femtosecond laser induced periodic surface structures on polymer films.
In this work we present the formation of laser induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) on spin-coated thin films of several model aromatic polymers including poly(ethylene terephthalate), poly(trimethylene terephthalate) and poly carbonate bis-phenol A upon irradiation with femtosecond pulses of 795 and 265 nm at fluences well below the ablation threshold. LIPSS are formed with period lengt...
متن کاملFormation and Properties of Laser-Induced Periodic Surface Structures on Different Glasses
The formation and properties of laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) was investigated on different technically relevant glasses including fused silica, borosilicate glass, and soda-lime-silicate glass under irradiation of fs-laser pulses characterized by a pulse duration τ = 300 fs and a laser wavelength λ = 1025 nm. For this purpose, LIPSS were fabricated in an air environment at ...
متن کاملSub-Diffraction Limited Writing based on Laser Induced Periodic Surface Structures (LIPSS)
Controlled fabrication of single and multiple nanostructures far below the diffraction limit using a method based on laser induced periodic surface structure (LIPSS) is presented. In typical LIPSS, multiple lines with a certain spatial periodicity, but often not well-aligned, were produced. In this work, well-controlled and aligned nanowires and nanogrooves with widths as small as 40 nm and 60 ...
